Given the Coronavirus pandemic, it is important to note the other pandemics of the past--most notably the Spanish Flu of 1918. Here are a couple of videos about the Spanish Flu.

Another new school year!

With the start of another new school year I am adding some new resources to this page to help students learn more information about our nation's history.  I hope that students (and even their teachers) will find useful materials here in the "one-stop shop" of all things historical!

History is NOT "boring" or "dead" or "irrelevant" to our lives today for sure.  It is important to understand our past to understand where we are today and where we might be headed in the future.

There are amazing books about United States history and I am adding a page to highlight some of my favorite ones on a variety of subjects!  I hope you will find a book (or books) that you LOVE in my list!  If you do, please comment on this page. If you know of other great history books I have missed, please let me know. I am always up for a trip to the bookstore or library or to order from Amazon!

Have a great school year!

I had the best time last week learning about the Comparative Government and Politics AP Exam for 2017-2018!  There were 6 students and our instructor, Rebecca Small, and we learned so much about preparing our students for the exam in the spring.

Love professional learning experiences such as this!

I am a teacher and my goals for this website are:
1. to gather relevant materials, sites and resources in one place to help other teachers find what they need to teach their students about United States history as well as the history of the Americas.
2.  to gather materials for my own students to use in their work in my courses.

This site is a work in progress. I am not a website designer, so please overlook mistakes!  I receive no profit from this site.
